I recently got asked some questions for a Mexican magazine, and I decided to just convert my responses into a FAQ. So here it is... What was the first thing you directed? Which is the work you've done that you're the happiest about? How did you decide to be a director? How do you come up with your ideas? What are your future plans? What advice would you give to people that want to direct? Most ideas are motivated by the music. I listen to a track over and over again, just trying to take cues from the lyrics, and from the rhythm of the song. Usually I listen to each song about 30 times before I write anything. Sometimes, the first few times I listen to it, I'll be struck with something, but usually it takes a while. Other times I'll come up with an idea, and just wait for a song to come along that it could work for. I have a huge list of ideas that I'm just waiting to plug into the right song.
